Online advertising network Adconion Media Group is acquiring direct marketing and data management company Frontline Direct for USD20m in cash and stock. Frontline specialises in email marketing and database management. Adconion will integrate Frontline's operations within the ad networks' existing offering in a bid to expand into the North American market. Adconion says it intends to open a new office in San Diego to add to existing operations in New York, Santa Monica and Toronto.
The purchase follows the recent USD80m Series C funding received by Adconion in February from Index Ventures and Wellington Partners. Adconion claims to serve almost 300m ad impressions globally per day, with around 50m coming from the US alone.
